Championship

Bournemouth are the league's pacesetters after beating Brentford 1-0 at the Goldsands Stadium, Junior Stanislas's solitary goal was enough to separate the sides. Millwall are occupying the other automatic promotion position after beating London rivals Fulham 1-0, Martyn Woolford scored the only goal as he condemned the Cottagers to back-to-back defeats.

Cardiff earned their first win of the season against managerless Huddersfield with goals from Peter Whittingham and Kenweyne Jones. Despite the defeat Terriers caretaker Mark Lillis claims there is still a 'sprit' in the camp.

Bolton manager Dougie Freedman called his sides 2-2 draw at home to Nottingham Forest as 'good advertisement for the Championship'. Forest twice came from behind thanks to their recent recruit, Britt Assombalonga.

Franck Moussa's 90th minute strike was enough to make two defeats on the bounce for Wigan Athletic as Charlton ran out 2-1 winners at The Valley.  The Latics are still searching for their first win of the new season.

Blackburn ensured Blackpool would remain pointless as Rudy Gestede scored a brace to earn a 2-1 victory for Rovers. After the match, Tangerines manager Jose Riga called for more players at the club.

Neil Adams got his first win in charge of Norwich City as they dispatched Watford by 3-0, Joel Ekstrand's second minute red-card paved the way for a comfortable Canaries win.

The lunchtime game was full of controversy as Middlesbrough were denied a point at Elland Road despite a legitamate goal from Albert Adomah. Referee Stuart Atwell seemingly mistaking Adomah's brillance for dangerous play. Leeds went on to win the game as Billy Sharp made his dream debut, scoring after a spill from Boro's goalkeeper Tomas Meijas.

In the rest of the games, Birmingham won their first home game for eight months against Brighton, Rotherham beat Wolves thanks to a Ryan Hall goal and Sheffield Wednesday and Derby played out a stalemate at Hillsborough.

League One

Bristol City are the League One leaders after Aaron Wilbraham's brace helped them come from behind to beat Colchester United at Ashton Gate.

Newly-promoted Chesterfield continued their excellent start to the season as two penalties from Eoin Doyle were enough to beat Rochdale at the Proact Stadium.

Fleetwood are the other newly-promoted side making waves in a higher division, Jamie Proctor scored his second of the season to beat Notts County 1-0.

Kyle Vassell's brace helped Peterborough edge out a thrilling game against MK Dons as they won 3-2 at London Road.

Izale McLeod contiune his excellent start to the season as he scored the penalty against Swindon, which ensured Crawley would make it three from three for the new season.

Unlike Fleetwood and Chesterfield, Scunthorpe are learning the harsh realities of the division above.  The Iron capitulated as a rampant Preston side  ran out 4-0 winners, inflicting the first home defeat of the Russ Wilcox's era.

The much fancied Sheffield United find themselves in the bottom four after losing 1-0 at Coventry City. An own goal from Bob Harris helped the Sky Blues defeat the Blades for the second season in a row.

In the rest of the games, Barnsley came from behind to beat Crewe, Port Vale claimed a comfortable 3-1 win at Doncaster and Gillingham beat Yeovil for the second time in week by winning 2-0. While Leyton Orient boucned back from their defeat to Chesterfield, defeating Oldham 3-1 at Boundary Park.

League Two

The bookmakers will be rethinking their predictions for League Two after Morecambe won their second game on the bounce. The Shrimps, who are fancied for relegation, came from behind as an inspired performance from Kevin Ellison helped them beat Newport County 3-2.

Wycombe flirted with relegation last season but they are firmly looking up after beating Carilsle 3-1 at home. Goals from Aaron Pierre, Paul Hayes and Peter Murphy were enough to defeat the Cumbrians.

Southend got things done nice and early against Stevenage as goals from Myles Weston and Ben Coker had Boro down and out after twenty minutes.

Two late goals from Billy Kee helped Burton Albion come from behind to defeat Dagenham and Redbridge, the veteran Jamie Cureton had given the Daggers the lead following an assist from Ashley Hemmings.

Cheltenham contiuned their positive start to the season as they beat Accrington Stanley 2-1 at home. On-loan Birmingham midfielder Koby Arthur scoring the games decisive goal.

Shrewsbury got the latest of wins as two goals in the 90th minute from Andy Mangan and Mickey Demetriou helped them come from behind to defeat Tranmere 2-1.

Matt Tubbs is proving what great acquisition he is for AFC Wimbledon, his single goal was all that was needed to earn the away side a 1-0 win at Luton Town.

Plymouth boss John Sheridan dedicated the win in the Devon Derby to the fans after goals from Tyler Harvey, Reuben Reid and Curtis Nelson were enough for a first home win of the season.

In the rest of the games, Bury left Hartlepool in the bottom two with a 2-0 win at Victoria Park, Mansfield earned their first home win of the season after beating Oxford 2-1 and Portsmouth beat Cambridge 2-1 at Fratton Park. Meanwhile, Marc Richard's late freekick earned Northampton a point at York City.
