Shrewsbury Town have confirmed the signing of ex-Arsenal trainee Abu Ogogo, according to their official club website.

The Shrews have gathered the signing of the English footballer from Dagenham & Redbridge after he spent a total of six years there. The Reds acquired him from the Arsenal Academy back when he was a 19-year-old.

The player has signed a two-year contract with his new club and seems to believe that he will help strengthen the Sky Bet League One side. Micky Mellon had to fight off other clubs for this signing and he hopes that it will pay off.

After penning the deal, he told the official website of his new club: "I have been to Shrewsbury a few times and came up and met the manager and the chairman. There were a few clubs involved and I wanted to take my time and make sure I made the right decision. It will be the first time I have moved away from home but it will be a good experience. I was at Dagenham for six years and I thought it was a good time in my career for me to move on."
