Recently-relegated League One side Millwall will not be rushed into any decisions on player transfers, according to an interview with manager Neil Harris for the club's official website.

The Lions are due to return for their first day of pre-season training on Thursday with a dramatically different squad from the one which was relegated from the Championship last season, and Harris is still keen to bolster his attacking options.

Millwall are looking for a fourth forward

Harris has already confirmed the signings of Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Jordan Archer and defender Joe Martin from Gillingham, but his side is still wanting at the other end of the pitch.

The 37-year-old, who is Millwall's all-time leading goalscorer with 138 in all competitions, has stressed that his aim is to have four strikers, all of whom "bring something different" to the side.

He continued to assert that, while enquiries have been made about the availability of a number of players, the club will not be pushed into signing a player unless he is sure it will be of benefit to his side on the pitch and in the dressing-room.

Harris trusts in his current attacking options

Lee GregoryJohn Marquis and Aiden O'Brien are Harris' attacking options as of now, and he is confident in their ability to contribute over the course of the season.

As a result, he has assured fans that he is comfortable waiting until the season starts in August to make sure he brings in the right players.

The former Nottingham Forest and Cardiff City striker was especially glowing in his praise of 23-year-old forward Marquis, whose potential Harris said "has always been there".

Harris claimed that he had made it "a little bit of a project for myself" to watch Marquis in action while he was on loan at Gillingham last season, and admitted that he was "really pleased with what [he] saw".

He assured Marquis that, while he has not always played to his full potential, he and his fellow forwards will be given their chance to shine over the course of next season.

Millwall get their first season back in the third division underway with an away trip to Shrewsbury Town at the beginning of August.
