Max Clayton is also a few weeks away from a first-team return following a cruciate ligament injury he suffered last December.

American international Tim Ream is unlikely to feature, with the 27-year-old set to leave the club in the transfer window, with Fulham and Queens Park Rangers interested in his signature.

Speaking ahead of the game in Milton Keynes, Wanderers manager Neil Lennon revealed that he is “concerned” at the side’s lack of prowess in front of goal.

In an interview with the club’s official website, the Northern Irishman said: “I’m not overly concerned about the lack of goals, because the manner of the performances, aside from the one half at Middlesbrough, has been good.

“We’ll be a lot stronger going forward come Tuesday night. We’re hoping to get a deal concluded for an attacking player before Tuesday’s game. He’s with us at the moment and hopefully that’ll be finalised before the game.
