Leyton Orient have bolstered their defensive options with the signing of Brighton & Hove Albion left-back Adam Chicksen, according to the O’s official website.

Chicksen has officially signed a one-month loan deal with Orient, which could be extended depending on the defender's performances at the club.

The Brighton defender is quite familiar with Leyton Orient as this is not the first time that he has been signed by them. They originally signed him back in 2012, also on loan.

In his first stint at the club, he played a total of three games and this time he will go straight into the line-up for Orient’s game this weekend against Notts County.

Chicksen Joined The Seagulls Back In 2013

O’s manager Ian Hendon has managed to talk Chicksen down two divisions in order for him to keep playing consistent first-team football. He has only made a total of 15 appearances for Brighton.

The Seagulls have not played Chicksen thus far this season and he spent most of last season out on loan to Gillingham and Fleetwood.

"Adam is a very professional and determined player and he needs to be playing," Seagulls manager Chris Hughton told the clubs website.

"A Terrific Attitude And Approach."

He added that he "takes extremely good care of himself" and that he has a "terrific attitude and approach" while also adding that he is hopeful that the loan move will provide him with the first team football he wants.

"This will not only be of benefit to him and Leyton Orient, but also to us as a club as it means we have another player out on loan gaining valuable competitive first-team experience," added the Brighton manager.

This signing could reinforce the promotion hopes for Leyton Orient and give them an edge over their rivals as they attempt to return to League One at the first time of asking.
