Chris Hughton is the latest manager that has been put forward for the vacant Fulham job.

Fulham are on the search for a new manager after Felix Magath was sacked following a poor start to the Championship season where the Cottagers have picked up just one point from eight games.

The Londoners only source of promise this season has come in the League Cup where they have reached the last 16 following last night's 2-1 home win over Doncaster which caretaker boss Kit Symons took charge.

Symons has expressed his desire to take the role on permanently, however Fulham are considering their options with one of those being former Norwich gaffer Hughton.

The former Spurs defender has done well when he's managed in the Championship after winning the title with Newcastle in 2011 while also reaching the playoffs with Birmingham in the 2011/12 season while also having to deal with a Europa League campaign.

Hughton has been out of work since April when Norwich sacked him with just four games of the season left which resulted in the club being relegated despite them being safe when he was in charge.

If a quick appointment was made he could take charge of his first game at old stomping ground St Andrews on Saturday. Whoever is named full time boss a decision is needed soon as Fulham sit isolated at the bottom even below thinnest squad in the division Blackpool.
