Harry Kane is played through and slides it in the corner, Spurs come from behind to win 3-1. Seems like a pretty routine victory for Tottenham, but Forest made it anything but that. Hitting the woodwork early on through Ben Osborn was a signal of intent, before then taking the lead. Stuart Pearce's men should be full of confidence after pushing a Premier League side, like Spurs, to the full.

With the glory days of lifting a European Cup well behind them, the last decade has been a forgetful one for Nottingham Forest. Managers such as Billy Davies have came and tried to steer Forest back into the top flight, but all have failed. Cometh the hour and cometh the man, Stuart Pearce was appointed to take over as Forest boss at the end of last season, and ever since then Forest fans haven't looked back. The rapturous ovation given the moment Pearce stepped out of the tunnel for the first time as boss was overwhelming, a cauldron of noise that hasn't been heard at the City Ground for years.

The Forest's owners clearly trust Pearce, giving their man £8m in transfer funds, in which he splashed £5.5m of on Britt Assombalonga, whilst capturing Michael Mancienne from Hamburg for one million, it was very shrew business from the gaffer. As has been seen over the years, spending large amounts of money, which £8m is in the Championship, demands success and Pearce has brought success. Forest sit top after 8 games, accumulating 18 points from a possible 24. Five wins and three draws, combined with a whole lot of goals, including 8 from Assombalonga, is a certain recipe for success.

If they continue in the same vein, Tottenham hosting Nottingham Forest will be a regular fixture.
