Former Chelsea midfielder Slavisa Jokanovic has replaced Billy McKinlay as Watford boss, only eight days after the Scot was put in charge.

Jokanovic has formerly won back-to-back titles with Serbian side Partizan Belgrade and joins the Championship side from Spainsh third division side Hercules

He becomes the Hornets' fourth boss in 37 days.

Watford started the season under Beppe Sannino, who quit on 31 August following reports of growing tensions between himself and the players.

Ex-Brighton manager Oscar Garcia succeeded Sannino, but was forced to resign because of health issues.

McKinlay then took charge, for just two games, and accumulated four points from a possible six.

Reports emerged on Monday that McKinlay was poised to leave and from Watford owner Gino Pozzo's perspective, it was in the club's "long-term interests" for the Scotsman to depart.
