Watford have signed Norwich City defender Sebastian Bassong on a 93-day loan deal.

The 28-year old Cameroon international is yet to feature under new manger Neil Adams, who was appointed in April.

His last appearance for Norwich was during a 1-0 loss to West Brom on 5 April, shortly before they were relegated.

"It's important for Seb to get some first-team football and keep himself fit and involved," said Adams.

"This is a good short-term loan move for all parties involved."

Watford are currently one of the Norwich's main rivals for promotion from the Championship, with both sides level on points, but the Canaries are one place higher in second on goal difference.

Watford have suggested that they were already considering signing Bassong before the shock sacking of short-term manager Billy McKinlay.
