Sheffield Wednesday 0-2 Bournemouth:

Eddie Howe's side went top of the Championship on Tuesday night with a 2-0 win at Hillsbrough. Owls midfielder Royston Drenthe was sent off and this changed the game in the Cherries' favour, as up until his sending off, the game was even and could have ended as a draw. Andrew Surman and Ryan Fraser found the net for Bournemouth, with Surman placing his shot past the Wednesday 'keeper. Callum Wilson had a stormer, as he assisted both goals and squared the ball to Fraser for the second.

Nottingham Forest 1-3 Brentford:

Brentford claimed an away win at Nottingham Forest, whose poor form continues. After a storming start to the season, Stuart Pearce's men haven't won in ten games. The breakthrough came from Jon Toral's opener 17 minutes in. Andre Gray doubled the advantage as he latched on to a poor back pass to make it 2-0 at half time. It was 3 for Brentford as Kelvin Wilson gave away a penalty, with Alex Pritchard tucking it away. Michail Antonio scored a consolation goal for Forest, whose form is worrying for a side chasing promotion.

Fulham 2-2 Blackpool:

Fulham managed to come from two goals down to secure a draw with fellow strugglers Blackpool. The Tangerines raced into a two goal lead thanks to goals from Ishmail Miller and Jacob Murphy. Lee Clark earned his first point as Blackpool boss but was down to ten men after captain Tony McMahon after a needless challenge. Scott Parker and Bryan Ruiz managed to salvage a point for the Cottagers in Kit Symon's first game since becoming permanent boss this week.

Birmingham City 2-1 Watford:

High flying Watford went down to a defeat to Gary Rowett's Birmingham. The Blues look a different side under former Burton boss Rowett, who is also a former Birmingham player. Clayton Donaldson netted a brace either side of Fernando Forestieri's leveller to give Birmingham just their second home league win in a year. After losing their last home game 8-0 to Bournemouth, it must come as a welcome change to Blues fans.

Middlesbrough 4-0 Norwich:

Middlesbrough are finally starting to show they're up for a promotion push after sweeping aside Norwich at the Riverside. Loanee Patrick Bamford opened the scoring within five minutes and set the tone for Canaries fans. Grant Leadbitter added two, one a penalty as Norwich capitulated, with Yanic Wildschut rounded off the win for 'Boro, who will be up around the top six should this form continue.

Millwall 2-2 Blackburn:

Ian Holloway was sent off in a heated game at the Den. His argument with counterpart Gary Bowyer saw him sent off, the argument coming from their disagreement over Andy Wilkinson's sending off for a tackle on Ben Marshall. Shane Duffy opened the scoring before half time before Rudy Gestede doubled the lead for the visitors. Lee Martin and Shaun Williams rescued goals for Millwall, who will be without both Wilkinson, and their gaffer for the mext game.

Brighton 1-0 Wigan:

There was a collective sigh of relief round the Amex on Tuesday evening as Brighton earned a first win in twelve games at Wigan's expense. Gary Gardner got the only goal of the game after 54 seconds. The worrying thing for Uwe Rosler ans the Wigan fans is their own lack of wins, with it being eleven games without a win for the Latics.

Reading 3-0 Rotherham:

Reading cruised to a convincing win over newly promoted Rotherham on Tuesday night. Goals from Jamie Mackie and a Simon Cox double was enough to see off the Yorkshire team. Reading dominated the game and Rotherham never really looked like getting back into the game once Mackie opened the scoring. It was certainly a game to forget for Rotherham's trip to the Majedski.

Bolton 3-0 Cardiff:

Russell Slade's tenure as Cardiff boss has shown no change as Neil Lennon's Bolton eased to a win over the Bluebirds. Liam Feeney's brace and a solitary Matt Mills strike earned the win for Bolton, who've had something of a mini revival under former Celtic boss Lennon. As for Slade there appears to be no change from predecessor Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's form in charge.

Leeds 2-2 Charlton:

Leeds and Charlton exchanged goals at Elland Road but neither could find the winner on Tuesday night. Alex Mowatt of Leeds and Johann Berg Gudmundson of Charlton scored braces. Leeds took thelead but Chalrton responded. Then in a case of deja vu, Mowatt scored a second with Iceland International Gudmundson responding with another goal for the addicks, who maintain their decent form.

Derby 3-2 Huddersfield:

Promotion hopefuls Derby managed to pull off a 3-2 win over Chris Powell's Huddersfield in a thriller at the iPro Stadium. Liverpool loanee Jordan Ibe opened the scoring for the Rams, with Harry Bunn levelling the scores. But it was Derby who went in at the break in the lead after Jonny Russell's goal in first half stoppage time. Simon Dawkins won the game for Steve McClaren's men, but Mark Hudson's late goal left Derby wary but thankfully held out their win.

Ipswich 2-1 Wolves:

Ipswich moved into the play offmplaces thanks to top scorer Daryl Murphy's brace either side of James Henry's equaliser. Wolves themselves are a team in form, but Mick McCarthy got one over his former employers as the Tractor Boys continued their good form. It could have easily ended with a draw as Wolves pressed for an equaliser but couldn't find it and it means Ipswich enter the play off picture.
