Mid-table Sheffield Wednesday play host to promotion chasing Middlesbrough on saturday.

For the first time in eight games the Owls managed a win as they saw off Milwall 3-1 away from home on tuesday thanks to goals from Atdhe Nuhiu, Lewis McGugan and Stevie May.

After a bright start to the season, which included a 3-2 win in this reverse fixture, Wednesday have really slumped into a win and then lose team, which has left them sitting in 11th place in the table, which is 16 points from the Playoffs and 12 points above the relegation zone.

After such a long successful run to see them to the top of the league, Middlesbrough had a bit of slump recently as they went three games without winning in all competitions, a run that was ended with the 1-0 home win over Bolton on Tuesday night.

They still sit in a good position in the league table though as they have a three point cushion to third place Ipswich and sit only two points behind leaders Derby with a close goal difference. Their run in is the toughest out of the contenders so games like this are crucial to their Premier League chances.
