Bournemouth thrashed Bolton 3-0 in their final home game of the Championship season to seal promotion to the Premier League bar a mathematical miracle on the final day.

The hosts had to wait patiently for the opener which Mark Pugh provided six minutes before half time. Great work from Matt Ritchie down the right with a cross that found Pugh at the far post who controlled it before working a yard of space and firing across goal with the ball going in off the right post.

The Cherries doubled their lead a minute before the break as Ritchie went from provider to scorer. A wonderful team move as Callum Wilson played it from left to right in the box to Yan Kermorgrant who pulled it back for the incoming Ritchie who passed it left footed into the bottom left corner.

Victory was then assure through Wilson who finally got a goal to cap off his great performance. Charlie Daniels overlapped into the box down the left and pulled it back to the striker who spun on his left foot before reversing it in with his right from 10 yards out.

Eddie Howe's side started as they meant to go on really as in just the third minute Wilson knocked Tim Ream off the ball to get in the clear only for Adam Bogdan to close off the angle with a save at Wilson's feet.

Bolton did threaten to sneak in front though as Adam Le Fondre had a clear sight of goal in the 14th mintue. A cross was flighted in from the left which defender Dervite flicked through the middle for Le Fondre who went with his head and but it into Arthur Boruc's feet.

The second half was a slightly calmer affair but with Bournemouth very much on top as Bolton offered very little in attack. Their job was made harder 20 minutes from time when Dervite was sent off for bringing down Wilson when he was clean through in the box. Kermorgrrant stepped up to take the penalty but skied it over the bar but that was the only bad part on a great evening for Bournemouth.
