Earlier today, we learnt that Ipswich Town's young defender Teddy Bishop, 18 has been charged by the FA for what they call "multiple breaches of match betting rules."

The rules about betting on matches were updated in August last year to state that anyone involved in football - from players and managers to match officials and club staff - is banned from betting on football, in any capacity, worldwide.

An Ipswich Town spokesperson said: "We are aware of the charge that Teddy faces but won’t be making any further comment until the result of the disciplinary procedure is known."

Bishop, broke into the Ipswich first-team at the start of this season, making his debut in their 1-0 Capital One Cup defeat to Crawley coming on as a 77th minute substitute. On the 30th August 2014, Bishop made his league debut in a 1-1 at home to Derby County

He's played 30 games for Ipswich scoring one goal, and in December manager Mick McCarthy said that he tipped him to go and play in a top league while team-mate Cole Skuse said: "He [Bishop] could play in the Premier League.
