Championship side Birmingham City have confirmed the re-signing of former goalkeeper, six-foot-three Englishman Adam Legzdins

Legzdins, 28, has signed a two-year deal at St Andrews with the club, and his contract includes an option for a further year.

The 28-year old started his career at the Blues' academy and turned professional a decade ago in 2005, but failed to make an appearance before he was let go in 2008, dropping down the Football League to League One side Crewe Alexandra

Legzdins has had a frustrating career

Legzdins left Leyton Orient at the end of the 2014/15 season by mutual consent after an injury-hit campaign which limited him to making just 11 appearances, the last of which came in a 4-1 win over Crawley Town on Boxing Day. He was helpless to prevent the relegation of the O's, who will start next season in League Two after finishing 23rd in the third tier last time around.

He is well travelled having appeared for eight different sides in his ten-year professional career.

During the 2010/11 season, Legzdins played every minute for Burton Albion and won both the Supporters' and Players' Player of the Season awards, though the Brewers struggled to a 19th-placed finish.

Things did not quite work out at Derby

His form led to Championship side Derby County signing him on a three-year contract as a backup to then-first choice Frank Fielding.

Manager Gary Rowett took him back to Burton on an emergency loan later that season, before he ended the 2011-12 campaign back at Derby.

He replaced Fielding early in the 2012-13 season, going on to play 33 times for the Rams that year, but he soon found himself replaced as current custodian Lee Grant was brought in to take the number one spot. Frustrated, Legzdins left for Oriend at the end of the season.

Blues manager Rowett will link back up with Legzdins after their time together at Burton, where he made 47 appearances for the Brewers in total.
