Brentford's latest eye catching signing, Philipp Hofmann, has spoken to the club's website about being “very happy to be [at the club]’’, after completing his move to the London side this week.

The German youngster has also complimented his new ‘‘beautiful club’’, as well as setting out his aspirations for this season with the belief that the Bees "have a chance to get to the Premier League."

Hofmann confident he'll settle in

Of course, for any foreign player, coming to England is a daunting challenge, and Hofmann is aware that "English football is a little bit harder." However, the talented striker believes that he has all the attributes to be a success in with Brentford, despite the difference in styles between England and Germany, saying that the league is one "that suits the type of player that [he is]."

The summer has seen huge change at Griffin Park, with Hofmann being one of many new signings alongside an over haul within the coaching staff, but the former FC Kaiserslautern man has admitted he "knew a bit about Brentford" before the conclusion of the deal.

The German, who has scored 18 goals in 36 appearances for his country at youth level, has described himself as a "big striker" and as someone who is "good with his head," which he claims will be "good for the club."

Striker excited to get started

Brentford take on Stoke City this weekend in a friendly as they bid to get their match fitness back and put themselves up against a Premier League outfit ahead of the new season. The game could be Hofmann's first appearance, and "hope[s]" for exactly this.

As a final message to the Brentford fans, he thanked them for their support following his arrival and revealed that he is "happy" to have joined them.
