Nottingham Forest winger Oliver Burke has signed a new three-year deal.

Burke, 18, made two appearances for Forest last season. He also spent a month on loan at Bradford City, where he made two appearances.

He has been at Nottingham Forest since 2008 and spent six years in youth team before he signed a professional deal last September.

It is expected he will be on the verge of making the first-team some time this season.

Forest happy to have him signed on

Speaking about the deal, Forest academy chief Gary Brazil said: “He’s a real threat to any team at any level. We’re really excited about Oliver and I’m pleased we’ve got him on a longer term contract.”

Last season he appeared in the 3-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in the Capital One Cup and came on as a substitute in the 4-4 draw at Blackpool.

The youngster showed his delight on Twitter: "Absolutely over the moon to sign a long term contract at the club I love @Official_NFFC thanks for the messages #nffc"

Burke has been gathering some Premier League interest but his new deal should mean that will die down for the time being.

In a column for the Nottingham Post, ex-Forest striker Gary Birtles said he was happy to see the youngster tie down a three-year deal. He later commented that he would like to see Burke go out on loan to a League One club again rather than play for the Under-21 squad.

Evtimov pens new deal

Bulgarian goalkeeper Dimitar Evtimov also signed a new four-year deal at the club.

The 23-year-old, who spent last season on-loan at Mansfield Town, should be expected to be third-choice behind recent signing Ben Hamer and Dorus De Vries.

Clearly excited about the deal, Evtimov tweeted that the faith shown in him by the club meant "so much to me and my family", before assuring that the "hard work carries on".
