Brentford are resigned to losing highly-rated full-back Moses Odubajo with Hull City on the verge of completing his signing.

Odubajo, 22, is set to move to Hull after the Tigers triggered his £3.5m buy-out clause.

He will sign a three-year-deal at the KC Stadium, according to the BBC.

Speaking about the departute, Brentford manager Marinus Dijkhuizen said: "I think Moses will not be in the squad any more so that's a big loss for us,

"Hull bid for him last week and he decided for himself that he didn't want to play in the friendly, he wants to leave. He said it's a big opportunity for him."

Key performers on the way out

Before his switch to Brentford last summer, Obdubajo had impressed as winger for Leyton Orient in League One and had been unlucky not to have been promoted with the O's having scored in the play-off defeat to Rotherham United.

Last season Mark Warburton converted him to the full-back position and he proved to one of the league's best players in a Brentford team that made the play-offs at the first time of asking.

When he departs, Odubajo will join Stuart Dallas and Jonathan Douglas as two key players from last season to have left Griffin Park. Dallas is departing to Leeds United, while Douglas has gone to Ipswich Town.

Brentford have gone some way to replacing them with Josh McEachran, Lasse Vibe and Phillip Hoffman all arriving at the football club in the last month.

Gray will stay at Griffin Park

Dijkhuzien confirmed striker Andre Gray will be staying with the Bees despite interest from Hull City.

Gray joined from Luton Town last season and proved to be a great success in his first season of Championship football with 16 goals.

Dijkhuzien claimed it was "easy" for Brentford to turn down the offer for Gray, though Hull do seem keen to play the long game for Gray with Dame N'Doye and Nikica Jelavic are set to leave the club.
