Recently relegated Hull City welcome Huddersfield Town to the KC Stadium on Saturday.

The Tigers return to the second tier of English football for the first time after a two year stay in the Premier League. They'll be keen to take the win over fellow Yorkshire side Huddersfield, who finished a lowly 16th last season.

Both sides have been busy in the transfer maket, with Huddersfield making five signings, and Hull trying to add two more to their already acquired quartet. Brentford duo Andre Gray and Moses Odubajo were said to be close on moves to Humberside. The latter confirmed in a £3.5m deal on Fiday afternoon.

Hull have already signed Ryan Taylor from Newcastle, highly rated youngster Sam Clucas from Chesterfield, and Arsenal youth pairing Isaac Hayden and Chuba Akpom. It's possible some may play on Saturday.

The visitors have also made a handful of signings, such as veteran midfielder Dean Whitehead and Martin Crainie from Barnsley. However a few younger players have been signed by boss Chris Powell. Jason Davidson from West Brom will add some depth to the left back position while Kyle Dempsey and Jordi Hiwula have been drafted in to provide some attacking power.

Players To Watch Out For

Hull - Ahmed Elmohamady - The Egyptian winger has been one of Hull's most reliable players over the last two seasons. He was an ever-present in the Tigers' two years in the Premier League and garnered a reputation for being strong, fast down the wings and providing a mean cross.

Huddersfield - Nakhi Wells - The former Bradford man is a dangerous striker. Boasting pace when necessary and the ability to both finish and hold up the ball well, Wells could be a real threat to the Tigers defence. 11 goals in 35 appearances last season show he's got the goals to fire the Terriers to victory.

Team News

Steve Bruce may well choose to give all his new signings their debuts, though the game may come too soon for brand new signing Moses Odubajo. Harry Maguire is fit again following an ankle issue, but Hull have a big list missing.

Dame N'Doye looks set to leave following a move to Trabzonspor looking likely. Robert Snodgrass and Mohamed Diame continue to recover from long term knocks while Jake Livermore is still suspended following his drugs test failure at the end of last season. Alex Bruce is also out with an achilles problem.

For the visitors have a fully fit squad to choose from, strike pairing Ishmael Miller and James Vaughan haven't had the best of pre-seasons, but look set to be involved in Powell's squad. Like Hull Huddersfield look likely to play many of their new acquisitions.

Predicted XI's

Hull - McGregor, Robertson, Dawson, Davies, Taylor, Clucas, Hayden, Meyler, Aluko, Jelavic, Akpom.

Huddersfield - Smithies, Davidson, Crainie, Lynch, Smith, Bunn, Whitehead, Butterfield, Dempsey, Wells, Vaughan.

Prediction

Hull have home advantage, and that may come in handy on Saturday, the Tigers are strong at the KC Stadium and are expected to win this game. Huddersfield will provide a stern test of Bruce's men but Hull will prevail, albeit slightly, Hull 1-0 Huddersfield.
