Leeds United have signed former Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder, Will Buckley on an emergency loan deal that lasts until January 2.

Buckley has been training with Leeds throughout this week and there is a possibility he could make his home debut against Birmingham City this weekend. He was signed by former Sunderland manager Gus Poyet during the 2014 summer transfer window. The versatile player had previously played under Poyet at Brighton where they had some huge success.

Out Of Favour With Advocaat

The midfielder though as not made a single appearance for Sunderland this season as Dick Advocaat brought in a host of new players. He amassed a total of 24 appearances in all competitions for the Black Cats last season.

Will Buckley started his career at Rochdale where he made made 69 appearances at Spotland scoring 13 goals in the process during a three year stint at the club. He then transferred to Watford and then onto Brighton before a switch to the Premier League in 2014. He has this season dropped down the pecking order however as Sunderland signed a vast array of talent that included Ola Toivonen, Jermanine Lens and Fabio Borini.

"A Point To Prove."

Uwe Rosler told Leeds' official website that Buckley "brings pace, directness, goal threat and he's a good lad." Rosler added that he also has a wealth of experience and also "experience of playing for a team who challenge at the top of the Championship."
