Burnley have granted permission to three of their players to go out on loan, with all of the players who have left the Sky Bet Championship side being away on one-month terms.

Northern Ireland international Danny Lafferty has gone on a one-month loan deal to League One side Oldham Athletic while Cameron Dummigan has finalised a youth loan to the Latics. Goalkeeper Daniel Nizic has exited the club on the same terms as Dummigan as he has left on a youth loan to struggling League One side Crewe Alexandra.

Oldham Athletic, David Dunn’s side, will be able to play both of their new signings this weekend as they are set to play against Gillingham.

Lafferty looking for a return to form

Lafferty has been unsuccessful at his parent club recently as he has not been able to knock Ben Mee out of the starting line-up, due to his collarbone injury that he sustained earlier on in the year. The left back spent time on loan last year just like this season. Last season, he spent time at Rotherham United in the Championship and made 11 appearances for the Millers.

Youngsters hoping to gain more experience

Dummigan has not broken into the Burnley first team yet but he is a regular in the side’s under-21 squad. The 19-year-old is also a Northern Ireland international, the same as Lafferty, so this could be the reason why the Latics decided to loan them both together.

The new Crewe Alexandra signing Daniel Nizic is not expected to start Saturday's League One clash against on-form Chesterfield but he is said to be on the bench for the game. Due to his position, it is highly likely that he will not see any game time this weekend.

“Daniel is highly thought of at Burnley and it will be good for him to come here and be in a professional environment,” said Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis, on the subject of 20-year-old Nizic.
