According to reports in the Hull Daily Mail, West Brom are ready to make a bid for Hull City defender Andy Robertson.

The Scottish international has been one of Hull's rising stars over the past two seasons, and The Tigers will surely look to keep hold of him as they target an immediate return to the Premier League.

Can Hull keep hold of Robertson?

Reports suggest that that West Brom want Robertson to link up with former City defender James Chester, who transferred to the Hawthorns in the summer for £8million.

After an impressive first season at the KC Stadium, the young left-back was linked with some of England's biggest clubs. Arsenal and Chelsea were rumoured to be interested in Robertson, but Hull manager Steve Bruce put a staggering £30million price tag on him.

Another reason as to why Bruce would also love to keep hold of him, is because fellow left-back Robbie Brady moved to Norwich City from Hull in the summer. Along with Robertson, Brady was one of the prized assets for Bruce, but Hull couldn’t manage to keep hold of the ex-Manchester United player.

Will West Brom be his next career move?

Since his move to East Yorkshire in the summer of 2014, Robertson has made 35 appearances in all competitions. Once on the books at Scottish giants Celtic, he was released at a young age when he was then snapped up by amateur club Queen's Park F.C. He ammassed 41 appearances in the Scottish third division during the 2012-2013 season.

This prompted a transfer to Scottish Premiership side Dundee United where he made his breakthrough season. During his single season at United he managed an impressive five goals in 44 appearances.

It could be argued that he'd fit it very well at West Brom as Chris Brunt is currently filling in by playing as a makeshift left-back. The Baggies currently have Sébastien Pocognoli on their books, but the Belgian has failed to impress enough to cement a regular starting position.
