Queens Park Rangers will be desperately seeking points as they meet West Ham United at Loftus Road on Saturday, with the hosts stuck in a relegation dogfight.

Sitting in 18th, two places and points from safety, QPR have endured a difficult first season back in England's top flight. Manager Harry Redknapp, who guied the club back into the Premier League, left in February having not won an away game. Iterim manager Chris Ramsey, formerly on the Tottenham coaching staff, has done an okay job of keeping the R's in with a chance of surviving, but there is still much work to be done.

Despite the poor away results in the league this season, it is QPR's home form which is possibly their biggest concern at the moment. They've lost their past seven games at home, and haven't recorded three points at Loftus Road yet this year. FA Cup action meant that QPR had no game last weekend, meaning they'll be looking to recover from the 1-0 home defeat to Chelsea on 12th April, when Cesc Fabregas scored a late winner for the visitors.

For the West Ham fans, it's been a far more enjoyable season. Shrewd investments in the summer, such as Alex Song, Diafra Sakho and Enner Valencia, have allowed manager Sam Allardyce to implement a more exciting brand of football than he is known for, and it has help lift his side up the table. For a while the Hammers were in the hunt for a European place, but their form has unsurprisingly dropped off since the turn of the year due to injuries and suspensions, etc. They can still be very pleased with their achievements, and should have enough to finish in the top half of the table, currently sitting in 10th.

The aforementioned form after the turn of the year has left some Hammers followers with cause for concern, they have only registered two league wins in 2015. Last time out they were defeated 2-0 by Manchester City, as a dominant performance from the Champions ensured that West Ham left the Etihad Stadium with no points.

The two sides last met in October, with West Ham triumphing 2-0 at their own ground to move them up to seventh in the table. A Nedem Onuoha own goal opened the scoring that day, before Sakho headed in to double the lead in the second half.

In his pre-match press conference, QPR manager Ramsey said: "All we care about it getting over the line. That's what we're all focusing on.

"In the last month of the season, all the results will be key. But we're just focusing on what we do. We'll be doing everything we can to make sure we get positive results from our games."

In the opposite dugout, West Ham boss Allardyce focused on what his team can achieve from the remainder of the season: "We wanted to finish with more points than we've ever managed and we should've achieved that a long time ago.

After Christmas we were in a good position and we though we might be able to achieve a bit more than that. But we've made life difficult for ourselves.

We have to be at our best on Saturday because it's a London derby and QPR are fighting for their lives. The players have to realise they're not on the beach yet, far from it."

Team news:

Queens Park Rangers are the most injury hit team in the league, with a whopping nine players facing injury troubles ahead of the game. Alejandro Faurlin (knee), Leroy Fer (knee), Eduardo Vargas (ankle), Rio Ferdinand (muscular problem), Adel Taarabt (muscular problem), Ki Sun Yun (concussion) and Daniel Furlong (calf) are all unlikely to feature, whilst Matthew Doughty (foot) and Armand Traore (shin) face late fitness tests.

West Ham have a far more simple injury list, and are fully in the knowledge that they will have all of their squad, apart from four players, available. Diafra Sakho (hip), Guy Demel (calf), Andy Carroll (knee) and James Tomkins (shoulder) are the players that will miss out.
