Since the turn of 2015, QPR winger Matt Phillips has emerged as one of the West-London side's key players, as they attempt to avoid relegation in their inaugural Premier League season since relegation in the 2012-13 campaign.

He believes that current boss Chris Ramsey, who took over following Harry Redkanpp's resignation in February, is behind not only his form, but his teammates' also.

“Chris has not just been great with me, it’s all the lads. It is his man management to a certain extent but it also down to one-to-one coaching. There is so much you can do as a team but individually he gives us more things to learn." Phillips claimed.

“For example, he pulled me aside the other day at the end of training for a five-minute drill to work on something new for me to do when crossing the ball. I know I can improve and he can help me do that.”

Ramsey hasn't had the best of starts losing seven of his 10 games in charge, but he has kept his QPR's survival hopes alive with fantastic results including their first league away win of the season (2-0 - Sunderland) and a 4-1 thrashing over West Bromwich Albion. With most of the losses against far superior teams in terms of squad depth and quality, you can see why the rejuvenated Phillips is praising his current manager.

However, he acknowledges the fact that it's unfortunate that he wasn't given the opportunity to perform until a change of manager transpired.

“Even while Harry was still here I was saying, ‘I’m fit now and ready.' I wanted to show what I can do but it took a change of manager for that to happen, which is unfortunate."

The 24-year-old winger has scored possibly one of the best goals ever scored in the Premier League with a thunderbolt from 40-yards out and has notched up seven assists, only second in the most assists in 2015 throughout the major European leagues to Barcelona's Lionel Messi. More incredibly, he has achieved this staggering stat in only eight appearances.

Phillips will be looking to add to this tally and boost his side's chances of survivial this Saturdayam as he and his teammates face a tough test at home to West Ham United.
