After Swindon were brushed aside by Preston in the League 1 Play Off Final, players like Gladwin and Luongo were always destined to move onto pastures new. Thankfully for the talented young pair, QPR came knocking early and have granted them their season in the Championship which they almost achieved less than a week ago.

Queen's Park Rangers needed to act fast in the transfer window as the Hoops look to bounce back from another relegation from the Premier League. Both players did attract interest from Premier League, however they both inevitably turned the opportunities down.

"For me personally it's just a bit more realistic at this stage of my career. It's a natural progression coming from League 1." Gladwin told the club's official website.

"The points he put across to me about how he wants me to be involved in the club attracted me. He sold it to me really well." is what Luongo also told the clubs official website."

After spending 4 years doing the rounds in non-league football, it's taken Gladwin just two seasons in professional football to secure a move to an established club targeting promotion to the English top flight.

"Everyone I’ve spoken to about QPR said it would be a good move for me. I can’t wait to get going here." is only one of many positive words from Gladwin about his move to Loftus Road.

Australian international Luongo has previously worked under current manager Chris Ramsey at U18 level with Tottenham, he stated how having Ramsey at QPR made the move an easier decision for him.

"It really broke the ice, it's made me a lot more comfortable. I'm already familiar with the style he plays, I feel like I have a head start. I'm 100% ready, I had a taste of it two years ago (on loan at Ipswich), this next step is going to be a challenge but I'll always back myself."

As QPR head into another season back in the Championship, they now have two of the finest talents in The Football League in their squad.
