Neil Warnock could be QPR manager until the summer if he impresses during November.  Warnock has taken over on a temporary basis following the departure of Chris Ramsey.

It's understood that some players who had lost faith in former boss Ramsey have been impressed by Warnock's input and are keen to work for him at the club.

It has also been reported by the London Evening Standard that R's chairman Tony Fernandes wants the next manager to have strong connections with the Loftus Road club.

Warnock impressed QPR

Warnock impressed QPR bosses during his first spell between 2010-12 in which he helped the R's win promotion to the Premier League but he was sacked just 5 months after he was named manager.

Warnock did insist that he didn't want to get into full-time management but it's understood he was persuaded to have a change of heart.

Warnock is expected to include R's veteran defender Clint Hill and former R's midfielder Shaun Derry in his coaching staff.

Warnock's managerial career

Neil Warnock began his managerial career with Gainsborough Trinity back in 1980 and after a brief spell, he moved between Burton Albion and Scarborough, where he achieved modest success as the club won promotion to the Football League.

Perhaps his greatest success in his early managerial career came when took over over at Notts County as he helped them get promoted from the Third Division to the First Division during his spell in charge between 1989-1993.

Several jobs followed after his sacking in 1995 but it would be ten years before he enjoyed real success again, this time at his boyhood club Sheffield United.  He was there until 2007 and during his time he helped the club reach the League Cup and FA Cup Semi-Finals and got the club promoted to the Premier League in 2006. He then resigned in 2007 following the club's relegation from the Premier League.

He joined Crystal Palace in 2007 and saved the club from relegation to League One but once the club went into administration he moved to have his first spell at QPR in 2010 before leaving to join Leeds United in 2012 and he was sacked by Leeds in 2013 following a bad run if results.

He then rejoined Crystal Palace wiith the club in the Premier League in August 2014 and left in December 2014 following a sacking for a poor run of form.

He now returns to management all be it on a temporary basis at QPR to take charge for a second time.

Time will tell if Warnock has made the right choice to help out QPR.  His first game in charge will be at home to Preston North End.
