Tottenham will look to follow up their win in Greece on Thursday night with victory over a Stoke City side who are looking for their first win in three, when the two meet at White Hart Lane in an early afternoon kick-off. Both sides have been inconsistent in the league so far this season and a win for either side could be a step in the right direction.

The worry for Mauricio Pochettino and his team is the danger of a European hangover, having played in Greece on Thursday. Stoke will see this as  possible motivation to try and catch Spurs out, But Mark Hughes' team aren't playing well recently, drawing with West Ham last time out.

The big question from a Spurs point of view is whether Pochettino will start Harry Kane instead of Adebayor. Kane has scored eight goals in eight and is in red hot form recently, but has been confined to the bench for most of the season. He scored in Greece on Thursday and will certainly give his manager something to think about.

With two wins and a draw in their last five games, Spurs will be feeling more comfident than their visitors, even though they have the same form in their last five. Home advantage may be key here, as Tottenham try to make White Hart Lane a fortress again.

In team news Aaron Lennon and Emmanuel Adebayor will be assessed, and may come into the side. Kyle Walker is still out fter the right back underwent surgery on his abdominals. Nadil Bentaleb also won't feature as he has an ankle issue. Stoke can now call upon Peter Crouch and Phil Bardsley as they have completed their suspensions. Despite this Hughes still has Robert Huth (calf), Glenn Whelan (leg) and Peter Odemwingie (knee ligaments) out of action.

Despite their rocky form, Spurs are currently ninth in the league, five points ahead of the relegation places, but Stoke are only three points clear, and could be in a worse position come Sunday night.
