A penalty save from Hull 'keeper Allan McGregor secured a point for Steve Bruce's men, but they slip into the relegation zone despite picking up a point. West Brom will take a draw from the KC, as both sides still struggle in front of goal.

Curtis Davies remained on the bench after being dropped for midweek, Tom Huddlestone returned to the side replacing Mohamed Diame, who is out for two to three weeks with a knee injury. Sebastien Pocognoli and Gareth McAuley returned to the squad, with top scorer Saido Berahino on the bench.

In a game with little excitement, and only five shots on target, the only real opportunity for the deadlock to be broken came in the eighth minute. Victor Anichebe was brought down in the area by the returning Tom Huddlestone. Graham Dorrans ran up to take the spot kick but McGregor pushed it away to keep his 100% penalties saved record intact, saving three from three since sining from Besiktas last summer.

The first half was reminiscent of a bore draw, with the penalty being the only real talking point of a first half where home fans went to get food long before half time. West Brom had the better of the early action, Hull had the better second half but neither side could find a breakthrough.

It came as no real surprise that this game ended goalless, as both sides have only scored two goals apiece in their last five games. Hull striker Abl Hernandez disappointed on the return from the birth of hid chil, whereas midweek hero Sone Aluko couldn't repeat his heroics. Berahino extends his poor run in front of goal since being selected for the England squad, with Anichebe perhaps being the biggest threat.

Alan Irvine will be the happier manager after the game as they will see the point as a point gained, Steve Bruce however will be disappointed, as this is  game Hull could easily have won.
