Chelsea Forward Diego Costa is eyeing a return to Premier League action when the league leaders meet Arsenal later this month.

The Spaniard is the joint top goal scorer in the Premier League but has been struggling with a hamstring injury of late, only lasting 10 minutes against Stoke on Saturday after coming on as a substitute.

He picked up the injury against Hull in March forcing him out of games against Ukraine and the Netherlands for Spain, but Chelsea are hoping he will be ready to make his return against Arsenal on April 26th.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho admitted he took a huge risk by bringing Costa on in the 2-1 victory over Stoke, which looks to have led to further time on the side-lines for the Blues main goal scorer. He is likely to miss the league leaders key fixtures against QPR on the 12th and Manchester United on the 18th.

Costa has pointed to the game at the Emirates to make his comeback, a fixture that could prove to be a title decider. If Arsenal fail to win at Burnley on Saturday, Chelsea could mathematically clinch the title in North London.

French International Loic Remy is likely to deputise in Costa’s absence, with the former QPR man in good form going into the game against his former club. He has notched two winning goals in two games for his side, as Chelsea extended their lead at the top to 7 points with a game in hand.

The 26-year-old is set to undergo light training this week before seeing a specialist to see if he is ready to make his return against the Gunners.
