Following West Ham's disappointing defeat to Newcastle on the final day of the season, the East London club confirmed what many had already suspected, that Sam Allardyce would not be given a new contract. 

In-fact, Allardyce has since confirmed that this decision was very much a mutual one, with him keen to take a break from football, which will almost certainly rule out the opportunity for him to take another job before the beginning of the 2015-16 season.

Slaven Biliç, who has just left his position as manager of Besiktas, has frequently been linked with the East London club in the past, and has emerged as the early favourite to take the role left by Allardyce.

Bilic managed the Croatian national side for six years, during which they reached the Quarter-Finals of the European Championship in 2012.

Former Everton and Manchester United manager David Moyes, but after only six months at current club Real Sociedad, it seems unlikely that he will depart the Basque club.
