Following a 2-0 victory over Middlesbrough in today's Wembley play-off final, Norwich City have been promoted to the Premier League. They'll join Bournemouth and Watford in the English top flight for the 2015-16 season, courtesy of first-half goals from Cameron Jerome and Nathan Redmond.

Alex Neil's side will be amongst England's elite clubs in the upcoming campaign, as they've sealed an immediate return to what has been billed as the most competitive league in the world. They were relegated last season, and their promotion marks a dramatic turnaround for the Canaries, who had struggled for consistency in the Championship earlier on this term.

Aitor Karanka's Boro were second best on the day in truth, and found themselves with a mountain to climb after conceding two first-half goals in the space of three minutes. After this two-goal victory, Norwich will earn an estimated figure of £120million pounds as victors, and were in-front of a big attendance of 85,636 fans.

Post-match comments:

"It has been a long old season and we had two of the best sides in the league here today. We just missed out on automatic promotion - both of us were unlucky. Credit to Middlesbrough, they are a brilliant side. Someone has got to lose and unfortunately it is them; but I thought we were magnificent today. We moved the ball well and we were deserving winners for me." - Norwich striker Cameron Jerome, who opened the scoring.

"It was fantastic today, I'm absolutely over the moon for everyone involved with the club. Big players arrive on the big stage, we've seen that in the first twenty minutes. Really pleased with that - we've worked hard to get here, so we just needed to go out there and do our best." - Norwich manager, Alex Neil
