Arsenal’s season has been riddled with injuries of big players that have been out at important stages of the season, leading to the Gunner’s downfall on a few occasions of which Wenger has understood, "If you look at the injuries, the players we have missed, plus the schedule we had’’. Without the two playmakers, Arsenal have only managed four wins out of the last seven Premier League games, including a 3-0 drubbing by Everton allowing the Merseyside team to climb up and put pressure on that fourth Champions League spot. However, Arsenal were without the Welshman since Boxing day, missing much more than the talismanic German. With the 23-year-old missing games like the 5-1 thrashing by Liverpool, the Bayern Munich Champions league fixtures and other massive fixtures like Chelsea, Swansea and Manchester City – thus leaving Arsenal with a shortage of innovative midfielders alongside the absent Jack Wilshere.

However, both of the sparkling talents returned to action against Hull on Sunday and instantly showed what the Gunner’s were missing without their presence, with the team looking much sharper in the passing and were able to find that final ball to create superb opportunities in front of goal. Aaron Ramsey especially shone out of the two returnees setting up both of Lukas Podolski’s superb goals whilst also netting a brilliant opener after some excellent build up play which included Mesut Ozil.

Arsenal still have three Premier League fixtures to play, slightly more advantageous than Everton’s last three but the North London club must win them all if they are to secure that last Champions League place – of which the presence of Ramsey and Ozil will surely edge towards victory. The return of these essential ingredients to Wenger’s recipe will also be vital for the biggest game of the season – the FA Cup final, which all associated with Arsenal will want to win in order to end the nine year trophy drought and regain pride in the red side of North London.
