The 25-year-old Chilean forward has just come off the back of a scintillating year for both club and country and interest is high with potential suitors Arsenal being Sanchez's desired destination. Sanchez has struggled to adapt to the tiki-taka style of play since joining from Udinese in 2011 for a reported £32.7m including bonuses. However, Barcelona soon revealed they paid a total sum of £37.5m. The versatile forward had a tough start in Catalonia, picking up a hamstring injury shortly after his debut which limited his playing time. Sanchez finally managed to hit the type of form expected in the 2013/14 season after being labelled nino maravilla (wonder-boy), especially domestically as he finished fourth and eigth in La Liga for goals (19) and assists (10) respectively.

Chile have now consecutively made the World Cup round-of-16 after not winning a single World Cup finals match since 1962, in which they placed third. Part of this recent success is in thanks to Sanchez who was the centrepiece of their 2014 campaign with four goals and two assists in qualifying and another two goals and an assist in the World Cup proper. Sanchez has also shown his quality for Chile in friendlies, most notably against Iraq, England and Egypt where he recorded four goals and five assists in 242 minutes of football across the three matches.

Barcelona are in pole position to sign Luis Suarez and off-loading Sanchez is their likely response to adding the controversial striker. Suarez, who is banned from all footballing activity for four months, is still however, allowed to sign for Barcelona if the clubs were to agree a deal. The Catalan giants have a suspended 14 month transfer ban on their heads and are expected to make the most of what could be their final window before the ban is in place. Sanchez will also relish a move away from Barcelona as he hasn't had the freedom he enjoys with his national side as Messi takes much of the spotlight.

The Sanchez transfer is highly dependent on Barcelona signing Suarez and un-surprisingly Liverpool are looking to add Sanchez to the deal. Barcelona have reportedly offered around £63m according to Catalan TV stations however, the Liverpool Echo have quoted a price in excess of £70m. Suarez is also reportedly set to sign a 5-year deal in the next 24-hours according to some sources who suggest he will become Barca's fourth top earner. Complications over the deal are down to a possible inclusion of the Chilean forward but, he is favouring a move to the Emirates and has reportedly agreed terms with the Gunners. Arsenal have offered a reported £22m and are rumoured to be close to Barcelona's demands. Sanchez will ultimately have the last say on where he wants to play next season and if bookmakers have anything to say on the move, SkyBet's 1/2 odds on Arsenal landing the highly rated player, the Gunners will secure the signing of Sanchez.
