The World Cup is over and focus now returns to club soccer. Arsenal have all ready begun their pre-season without some of their players who made it to the latter stages of the World Cup. The 2014-2015 season will be huge for the Gunners after winning the FA Cup last season. However, the transfer window will provide Arsene Wenger with an opportunity to make a statement of intent and he has started quite well with the sigining of Alexis Sanchez.

The 2014-2015 Premier League season kicks off for Arsenal with a home game against Crystal Palace. This is a game which on paper Arsenal should win after beating Palace twice last season but you can never overlook a Tony Pulis team who had a good end to last season. They play neat effective football and have some quality players in their squad with the likes of Dwight Gayle, Mile Jedinak and Yannick Bolassie in the squad, there is plenty of pace.

Arsenal have three members of the German squad that recently won the World Cup so maybe they may bring some of their form back to the squad. Ozil at times last season looked like he did not want to be at Arsenal and had many crtics but he still chipped in with goals and assists. He will want to prove himself in the coming season. Additions to the Arsenal squad will also be hoping to prove themselves to the North London clubs fans. Arsenal fans will be hoping for more trophies in the coming season and with the promising start for Arsenal in the transfer window this should allow Arsenal to add to the silverware at the Emirates.

A win against Palace on the opening day should propel the Arsenal to great things in the coming season.
