Arsenal have completed a deal for the services of young Southampton right-back Calum Chambers.

Calum Chambers was a right-back for Premier League club Southampton. Originally a member of the club's academy system, Chambers was promoted to the first team at the beginning of the 2012–13 season. He played very well last season and has impressed Gunners boss Arsene Wenger so much that the Frenchman forced through a deal to bring the youngster to the Emirates Stadium. The 19-year-old becomes the third arrival of the summer with Alexis Sanchez, Mathieu Debuchy and David Ospina also opting for moves to the FA Cup holders.

According to David Ornstein of BBC Sport the youngster will join up with the squad for a training camp in Austria. This transfer could spell the end of Carl Jenkinson's Arsenal career. Ornstein also said that Arsenal are in the market for a defensive midfielder. They will also be looking for a replacement centre-half to replace Thomas Vermaelen should the Belgian leave the North London club.
