Norwich City have completed the signing of Arsenal defender, Ignasi Miquel for a £1.5 million deadline day move.

The Spaniard, has been at the Gunners since 2008, and has been ever impressive in under-21 matches. However, the central defender has been unable to make an impact for the first team, having made just five appearances in four years.

The 21-year-old was in his final year of his contract at the Emirates, and will join the Canaries on a three-year deal.

"It's brilliant for me to come here and I want to try and get in the team as soon as I can to help Norwich get back to the Premier League," Miquel told Norwich City FC website.

"I had to move on from Arsenal and Norwich have given me the chance to prove myself. The Championship is a tough league, but I know what it's about and I enjoyed last season."

Miquel spent last season on loan at Leicester City, who are newly promoted to the Premier League.

The defender was also ever-present for Spain's under-19 side, when they won the European Championships in 2011.
