According to the Daily Star, Manchester City and Arsenal will go to go head-to-head for the signature of Borussia Dortmund forward Marco Reus.

At the end of the 2013-14 season, Reus was linked with moves to both Liverpool and Manchester United - but confirmed that he wanted to stay at Dortmund for at least another year.

Reus suffered a 2-month long injury in a friendly just days before the 2014 World Cup was scheduled to start, meaning that he could play no part in Germany's campaign to become the world champions.

Despite suffering this injury, Reus managed to come back into the Dortmund set-up for the start of the 2014-15 Bundesliga season and has already been involved in the team positively; having scored one and created another in their 3-2 win over Augsburg last Friday.

It was clear that he was not going to be sold in this years' summer transfer window, but it has been suggested that he may be open to a move elsewhere at the end of the 2014-15 season.

Liverpool, United, City, Arsenal and Barcelona are among a whole host of clubs who are desperately vying for the 25-year-old's signature.
