After being released by Juventus in the summer, Mirko Vucinic had a number of different clubs chasing his signature. In the end he chose to make the dramatic switch to the UAE with Al Jazira.

The Montenegrin international has enjoyed a sublime start in the Arabian Gulf League, scoring 10 goals in 5 games, including two hat-tricks. This impressive goal tally has provided his new club with an unbeaten start to the season, winning three and drawing two.

While the UAE may not provide the same amount of competition as the Premier League, Vucinic is certainly still showing his experience and ability. It is believed that his experience at the top level is the reason why Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger is keen on the striker.

In fact, Wenger has always had an eye on Vucinic. For years he has been linked to the club and after a move to Inter fell through in January, Vucinic looked set to move to North London, only for Wenger to pull out of the deal late on.

After scoring a combined total of 101 goals in Serie A, there is no doubting his goalscoring ability, as well as the consistent record of 16 goals in 40 games for his national side, Montenegro.

The move would be seen to bolster Arsenal's attacking options, with German forward Lukas Podolski recently suggesting he may leave the Emirates in order for more first team football. That would leave Wenger with very few striking options and Vucinic could be the perfect short-term option for the club.
