Arsenal midfielder Mesut Özil is reportedly the subject of a £30million bid from Bayern Munich. The Bundesliga champions, managed by Pep Guardiola, are supposedly looking to add to their incredible wealth of talent in the midfield. Mario Götze, Thomas Müller and Thiago Alcântara are just three of Bayern's midfield that Özil would have to compete with.

The German, who was part of the World Cup winning team in Brazil, has been at the Gunners for just over a year, making a record £42.5million move to Arsenal on deadline day last summer. Since joining, Özil has played in 47 games for the club, scoring eight goals. He has come under much criticism for his seemingly below-par performances and 'laziness' since joining, with the record signing not playing the way that he did at Real Madrid

The reports come just days after he was sent home from the German squad, after suffering an ankle injury against Chelsea, ruling him out until the new year. Many believe that the Chelsea game may be his last in London. Sami Khedira and Julian Draxler are two names on Wenger's list in January, despite the Frenchman's reluctance to do deals in the middle of the season.
