Arsenal claimed their fourth draw of the season after the Gunners scrapped a point against an impressive Hull side at the Emirates.

The first chance of the game came to Arsenal in the 5th minute when Oxlade-Chamberlain crossed in the ball to find Jack Wilshere but the 22-year-old's header went wide. Welbeck came close a minute later but his effort from close range was well saved by Harper. Santi Cazorla almost to breaking the deadlock in the 9th minute with a brilliant strike from 20-yards, out but Harper managed to pull off a good save to deny the Spaniard. Alexis Sanchez opened the scoring in the 12th minute when the Chilean forward beat Curtis Davis on the right wing and the former Barcelona man lashed a wicked shot past Harper to open the scoring for the Gunners.

However their lead didn’t last for long as Diame equalised for Hull in the 17th minute. The midfielder broke through the defence like a rampaging bull and the Senegalese player beautifully dinked the ball over Szczesny to equal the scoring for the Tigers. Flamini claimed that Diame had fouled him during the events that led up to the goal, but the referee dismissed the Frenchman’s claim. Hull City goalkeeper Steve Harper was substituted off in the 40th minute after the English keeper picked up a shoulder injury, which forced him off for Greek goalkeeper, Eldin Jakupovic.

Hull took the lead a minute after the restart after Uruguay international Abel Hernandez headed the ball past Szczesny to give the visitors a surprise lead. Arsenal struggled to unlock the Hull defence in the opening 15 minutes of the second half. The North London side wasted good pieces of play and Hull were able to retain possession easily. A moment for Arsenal fans to cheer about came in the 62nd minute when Aaron Ramsey made his return to the Arsenal squad after the Welshman came on for Mathieu Flamini. Dawson pulled off a sublime block in the 74th minute to deny Santi Cazorla from equalising for Arsenal. Alexis Sanchez almost equalised for Arsenal when Welbeck laid the ball off for the Arsenal goal scorer but his effort was well blocked by Dawson in the 82nd minute. Jakupovic pulled off a brilliant save in the 86th minute to deny Sanchez from scoring a late equaliser. Welbeck scored the equaliser in the 90th minute when Sanchez ran his way through the Hull penalty box and found Welbeck who slotted the ball past Jakupovic. Gibbs almost completed Arsenal’s late comeback in the last minute of stoppage time when the left back snuck his past the Hull defence but his first time effort was well saved by Jakupovic and that was the last chance of the game.

The result puts Arsenal in 6th place after eight games. The last time the Gunners won at home in the Premier League this season was on the opening day of the new season where Aaron Ramsey pulled off a last minute winner to beat Crystal Palace.
