Arsenal are without a home win since August, and had to dig deep to draw 2-2 against a resilient Hull City side. Danny Welbeck scored a late equaliser, whilst Abel Hernandez and Mohamed Diame scored in between Alexis Sanchez' opener. A makeshift defence caused problems for the Gunners, with Laurent Koscielny, Calum Chambers and Mathieu Debuchy all out, Nacho Monreal was left to fill in at centre-back.

Wenger on the match, Wilshere's injury and gap between them and Chelsea:

"If you look the game again you will be surprised that we played better than the result indicates. Even in the last five minutes we had three clear-cut chances on goal. It’s difficult when we play against teams who are physically stronger and organised. This was the kind of game where we couldn’t afford to concede another goal when we came out at 1-1. They had two shots on goal in the whole game. At Chelsea we had three shots on goal in the whole game. We conceded two goals. It’s difficult to score three goals against any team in the world."

"I think the performance was quite good but we put ourselves in trouble because we gave two goals away. We put our heart and effort in until the last second and I cannot fault the effort, the spirit and the work rate of the team. I’m quite respectful for that. The first goal is for the referee. The second one is for us and I said that. Wilshere is well, and will play if he's selected on Wednesday."

"Of course it’s a concern. I cannot say it’s not a concern, it’s a big concern because the other teams have won their games and we haven’t. I cannot say it’s not a big concern."

Danny Welbeck described the result as bittersweet:

"It was bittersweet because we started the game well. They got the early goal in the second half and made it difficult for us because they just sat back. I was pleased to get a goal but disappointed not to get the three points. There's different ways you can look it at because they've been working hard all game, they maybe got a bit tired towards the end."

"You don't see those sort of things on the pitch but being on the pitch makes things more difficult. We need to see how we can evaluate it from there. I thought Hector Bellerin was brilliant today. He's really quick and once he got going it was difficult for Hull to stop him."

Mathieu Flamini had his say on the Diame incident which led to Hull's equaliser:

"I’m very frustrated. First of all with the referee’s decision for the first goal. It was clear to everyone it was a foul. I was in front of the player and he pulled me back so it was a very poor decision by the referee. I respect the referee and his decision but he was the only one not to see the foul."

Steve Bruce was delighted with a point, despite the fact that his side were minutes away from another famous victory:

"I am satisfied with a point, but I think that is four times this season we've conceded in the last minute. Today I didn't think we were going to concede because we were comfortable, but we ran out of juice badly because the international players had been away and we made a few mistakes. I thought we were going to hang on to what would be a great win for us."

"I didn't think we were going to concede because we were comfortable, but we ran out of juice badly because the international players had been away and we made a few mistakes. However, I have been here before with teams where Arsenal have played the reserves and we have been beaten by six or five and gone away with our tails between our legs, so we have done extremely well to get a point."

Arsenal head to Belgium in the Champions League in midweek, before a trip to Sunderland, who lost 8-0 to Southampton on Saturday afternoon. Hull, on the other hand, don't have an easier challenge than today, as they travel to Anfield to take on Liverpool.
