Hull scored their first goal of the match against Arsenal, although controversy was involved in the build-up to midfielder Mohamed Diame's equaliser. He went on a jinking run through the Arsenal defence, but his touch leading towards goal was too heavy and Flamini took advantage of that, getting in-front of him whilst trying to block his run towards goal.

Diame realised that his chance was almost gone, and held back Flamini by grabbing hold of his shirt; with the experienced French midfielder expecting a foul to be given to The Gunners. Instead, Diame continued running before dinking the ball over Szczesny to make it 1-1.

And, you could argue that if Hull were not awarded the goal, the game would have finished 2-1 after Welbeck's late equaliser in stoppage time.

Upon the replays, there was clear contact as Diame did not win the ball fairly, and there is good reason to understand why the referee should have blown the whstle.

So, could Flamini have done any better? Well, he is strong just like Diame, and could have barged him back; but the referee may have given a foul and Flamini would probably have been booked for his part in the tussle. It's a hard one to analyse, sometimes the referees give the foul, and other times see play continue to avoid continuous stoppages. Wenger & Co will feel disappointed nonetheless though, especially in an important game against a tough side like Hull, where everything matters.
