This weekend Manchester United visit the Emirates. They come with a third manager in three years, after they hadn't appointed a manager in over two decades. As Arsene Wenger's time at Arsenal looks set to come to an end in the coming years, will Arsenal face the same fate as Manchester United?

When Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013, the question of who would replace him was an important one. United chose David Moyes, who had been relatively successful in English football but had never won a trophy in England, to replace Sir Alex. This could be seen as a wrong descision because appointing a manager who has won nothing to one of the biggest clubs in the world looks like a wrong move from the outset. Arsenal need to make sure they appoint a manager of sufficient calibre if they don't want to end up like United.

Something that comes with winning trophies is gaining experience. Arsenal need a manager who is used to managing big players and working on a relatively large budget. Manchester United obviously didn't think of this when appointing Moyes and he made bad transfers and, towards the end, the players lost faith in him.

Arsenal need to appoint a big name manager. This will please the fans wnd attract players from around the world to play for the club. The fact David Moyes isn't a big name manager could be the reason he struggled to make the signings United needed to remain competitive.

Overall, if Arsenal appoint an experienced and successful manager they should face the same problem as Manchester United. If the Pep Guardiola rumours are true, Wenger leaving could be the end of a good era and the start of an even better one.
