Arsenal attacking midfielder Lukas Podolski is reportedly a target for Italian champions Juventus, according to Italian sources.

Now according to Calcio Mercato, an Italian newspaper, Juventus are lining up an offer for the North London misfit in January.

The 29-year-old has failed to start a Premier League game this season, making four appearances from the bench totalling just 46 minutes of playing time. The German has also made his way from the bench four times in Europe this season, scoring a single goal while failing to start.

Making 38 appearances in his first season for the Gunners – having joined beforehand from Bundesliga side FC Cologne, he struggled with just 21 appearances in his second season. However, this season he has become out of favour with Arsene Wenger, and has regularly been linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium.

Now according to Calcio Mercato, an Italian newspaper, Juventus are lining up an offer for the North London misfit in January.

However, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger recently spoke out about the situation with an unhappy Podolski, who claimed he wanted to hold crunch talks with the Premier League club. Wenger commented:

"I have good connections with Lukas. He has a lot of competition on the flanks. He has an outstanding attitude. I have not had an enquiry from anyone and expect him to be here."

It was reported back in March 2013 that Podolski was set for a switch to Massimiliano Allegri’s side, but little came of the apparent deal as the 121-time internationally capped star continued to struggle in England with recurring injuries and fitness woes.

The former Bayern Munich forward has also been linked to previous German club Cologne, and Bundesliga rivals VfL Wolfsburg.
