Arsenal have drawn French side AS Monaco in the last 16 of the Champions League. Arsenal finished second place in Group D with 13 points, just missing out on the top spot on goal difference, whilst Monaco finished top of Group C on 11 points.

The tie is an interesting affair as Arsene Wenger previously managed Monaco between 1987-1994. During that period Wenger won the Ligue 1 title in 1988 and two years later Wenger won the Coupe de France. Arsenal legend Thierry Henry also started his incredible career at the French side after emerging out of the youth academy in 1994.

Monaco progressed to the round of 16 after wining three, drawing two and losing one in Group C, however the French side only scored four goals during the group stage, the lowest of any team that progressed to the last 16 this season. Arsenal on the other stand just missed out on the top spot of group D on goal difference to Borussia Dortmund.
