As the year draws to a close, it's a good time to look back at the year that Arsenal have had. 2014 had been full of highsand lows in what has been a roller coaster of a year. But, what were the best games of 2014?

A third difficult category to choose due to the huge amount of quality performances that Arsenal put in. Obviously, this will be from an Arsenal perspective but many of the games on this list were good from a neutral perspective. Many games missed out on this five game strong list, including both 4-1 wins over Galatasaray and Arsenal's wins over Spurs and Liverpool in the FA Cup.

5. Arsenal 4-1 Newcastle

Arsenal's most recent game came at a very important time. Arsenal went into the match having lost their last league match 3-2 away at Stoke and they needed to get their season back on track. Newcastle on the other hand were fresh from beating Chelsea, becoming the first team to beat the Blues all season. Arsenal played very well on Saturday, with Giroud and Cazorla shining. To think Arsenal's team consisted of a make shift defence and without some of their best players is ludicrous but true.

4. Arsenal 2-0 Borussia Dortmund

The first and only Champions League game on this list was Arsenal's win at home to Dortmund last month. A first competitive Arsenal goal from Sanogo and an Alexis Sanchez wonder goal saw Arsenal win. The visitors failed to trouble the Arsenal goal; only getting their first shot on target in the 90th minute. A convincing performance against a team that was struggling in their own league was the Champions League win that Arsenal really needed and it really helped Arsenal qualify from the group stage and get a good draw with Monaco in the round of 16.

3. Arsenal 4-1 Everton

The second 4-1 victory on this list and the first of Arsenal's winning FA Cup run is the quarter-final. Drawing Everton was a third difficult draw for Arsenal, who had previously overcome Spurs and Liverpool to reach the last eight. Although the match was much closer than the scoreline suggests, it was a deserved Arsenal win and a very good performance. The first-half was close, Lukaku cancelled out Özil's earlier goal before half-time. Arsenal really showed their superiority in the second-half, an Arteta penalty and two Giroud goals put Arsenal on course to a Wemblry semi final, what happens next is history.

2. Arsenal 3-0 Manchester City

What a way to start the season. Probably Arsenal's best performance of 2014 came at Wembley in August. Arsenal took a 2-0 lead before half-time, in a match where both sides didn't have a full strength side. Arsenal dominated the first-half, and as City began to grow into the game in the second-half, Giroud killed off the game with his beautiful, curling, dipping shot. This win gave Arsenal another Wembley win and another piece of silverware.

1.Arsenal 3-2 Hull City

What else could it be? A game nearly nine years in the making at Wembley in May has to be Arsenal's game of the year. Arsenal had faced five teams, including three of the Premier League big boys, and the reigning champions, to get to their first Wembley final in three years and a shot at winning a first trophy in nine. Hull were in there first ever cup final and went to upset the odds, like Wigan had done a year earlier. Arsenal went 2-0 down in eight minutes against Hull but by 120 minutes the Londoners were the ones celebrating. Goals from Cazorla, Koscielny and Ramsey saw Arsenal lift the FA Cup. The FA Cup win was the Arsenal highlight of the year and it was a great day for all Arsenal fans.
