Full time: Reading Women 0- Arsenal Women 3
Yes, Arsenal were not at their best, but when you have Viv Miedema and Kim Little in your ranks, the best is not always necessary. Reading worked tirelessly, but to no avail and they were outclassed by an Arsenal side that didnt get out of gear 1.
Beth Mead has the opportunity to make it 4 late on, but duly fluffs her lines.
GOAL: Reading Women 0-3 Arsenal Women
MIEDEMA AGAIN!! DvD sweeps a ball through to Miedema who, as coolfully as you like, lobs over the indecisive Moloney. Game, set and match!
Injury time
4 minutes left in this game.
Sub for Arsenal
Lisa Evans makes way for Leonie Maier. (90)
Sub for Reading
Jade Moore is subbed off for Millie Farrow (86)
Nearly 0-3!
Beth Mead drives elegantly up the pitch and the ball eventually finds the path of Miedema, who toepunts straight at Moloney. A few seconds later, Lisa Evans strikes just past the far post. Should be 3.
Williams tries to lob the keeper having escaped the attentions of Leah Williamson but it remains 2-0.
Sub for Reading
A hot-headed Utland, on a yellow, trudges off to be replaced by no.9 Eikeland.
A wicked Kim Little ball is too strong for Miedema. She manages to recover the ball and deliver for Dutch coutnerpart van de Donk, whose header grazes the right post.
OUCH
Zinsberger flies into Jennie Beattie after punching clear a Williams free kick. A sore one it must be said, as she lies down in quite some discomfort aided by the medics' .
Reading are having a good spell now. Bodies are getting into the box, balls are being won but it is just that final attempt which is failing them.
Williams sends in a deep cross to Utland of all people at the back post whose header sails harmlessly over.
Second half kickoff
Reading kick off for the second half.
Half time: Reading Women 0-2 Arsenal Women
Reading go into the half time break 2 goals down to an Arsenal side who had not been their usual best for the majority of the opening 45. It was the home team who started best, with some high pressing and sloppy Arsenal passing presenting Fara Williams with multiple chances to open the scoring. As has been shown in recent weeks, Arsenal do not give opponents second chances and their first major clear cut chance was destined to go in, Miedema the scorer. The North London side have gradually grown into the game and their advantage was doubled by a delightful Kim Little dink.
Jordan Nobbs finds Miedema in behind the Reading defence, who lashes wildly over in the final minute of the 3.
GOAL: Reading Women 0-2 Arsenal Women
WHAT A GOAL KIM LITTLE! The Scot chests down a ball in the penalty area and delicately lifts beyond the helpless Molony
Miedema nearly capitalises on a poor Pachecho backpass to make it 2-0, but Moloney just about gets the ball away. Heart in mouth stuff!
GOAL: Reading Women 0-1 Arsenal Women
Guess who? Arsenal's only forray into the box of the first 20 minutes, following Kim Little's good interception, finds Miedema who inevitably tucks over Moloney. 1-0.
Miedema, leaning back, strikes wildly off radar from a good 25 yards out. She's failed to get into the game thus far and her frustration is showing, coming deeper to receive the ball by the minute.
Jade Moore appears to still be suffering from the effects of a wet ball that crashed flush into her face from a recent corner. She should be fine to continue.
Arsenal growing into the game
A superb reverse Kim Little delivery opens up Reading's left hand side, finding Katie Evans bursting down the flank whose square dellivery only just evades Miedema.
Reading getting closer
Space for Brooke Chaplen to pick out a cross for Williams, but Jennifer Beattie manages to get across and head out for a corner. Reading have been the much stronger outfit as of yet, a rare game where Miedema has not got herself involved early on.
Again, Williams is presented with a good opportunity, connecting rather tamely with a long range effort. Arsenal simply cannot get out of their own half in some terrible weather conditions.
Chance for Reading!
FARA WILLIAMS... NOOOO! Reading fail to capitalise on an intercepted loose pass, with Williams leaving her shot too late having spun Leah Williamson. Reading's high pressing working to good effect it seems early on here!
Kick off
Vivianne Miedema kicks off proceedings for Arsenal.

After their emphatic 11-1 win against Bristol City last weekend, Joe Montemurro spoke to arsenal.com about the goals within the team:
"The contribution from everyone today was fantastic and not only just in our build up play but we had to work to get back and they got us over the top a couple of times in the first half and we were still strong enough and organised enough to get back and do what we needed to do. It was very important from all accounts, not only from the goals but also from other aspects in terms of our work rate."
Harding’s Preview
Reading captain Natasha Harding is out of the game, but she previewed the tie for readingfc.co.uk:
She said: “Obviously Arsenal are such a dangerous side, you can see that from their current form, not to mention their result against Bristol at the weekend, but I know the girls have trained hard and we are coming off some great momentum and gutsy performances. We believe we can hang with any team that is put in front of us and we have shown that this season.”

Arsenal Women: Team news
Arsenal will likely reinstate captain Kim Little, who was rested and remained an unused sub during the demolition of Bristol City. Katrine Veje (foot), Dan Carter (knee) and Tabea Kemme (knee) are all out. Katie McCabe should return after illness kept her out of last weekend’s game. Joe Montemurro may look to play Pauline Peyraud-Magnin in goal, after Manuela Zinsberger started the last three WSL games.
Reading Women: Team news
Natasha Harding is still unfortunately out for the Royals. Other than that, Kelly Chambers has close to a full squad to pick from.
First meeting this season
The two have not yet played each other in the 2019/20 campaign, with this their first meeting.
Last year, Arsenal won both of their matches, with scorelines of 6-0 and 3-0, the latter the most recent at Adams Park. Across the two games, Vivianne Miedema netted four of the Gunners' nine goals, and her impressive goalscoring form, which has continued into this year, could easily be what sets apart the sides.
Standings
Arsenal currently sit at the top of the league table, and will provide a tough challenge for a Reading side who are languishing in sixth place. In their last game, the Gunners ran out 11-1 victors in a record breaking game against Bristol City, Vivianne Miedema scoring a double hat-trick whilst also assisting four goals.
Kick-off time
Reading Women vs Arsenal Women will be played at Adams Park, in Wycombe, England. The kick-off is scheduled for 14:30 GMT.
