Arsene Wenger will face off against former Spurs manager Tim Sherwood in the FA Cup final, when on the 30th May, Arsenal will play Aston Villa at Wembley. This will be the 19th time Arsenal have been in a FA Cup final, the highest tally for any team in the competitions 144 year history.

Arsenal left it late to secure their place in the final with a scruffy 2-1 against Championship side Reading, with Alexis Sanchez scoring the winning goal in the 105th minute. Aston Villa, however, managed to overcome Premier League giants Liverpool in a thrilling 2-1 win against the reds, and ruining club captain Steven Gerrard’s farewell party.

Arsenal are the clear favourites to retain the prestigious trophy, and set a new record for the most FA Cup wins ever, however as we have seen from the past, Arsenal could take the game like it is a friendly, and make it difficult for themselves. The Gunners had to come from 2-0 down against Hull City in the final last year, with Aaron Ramsey scoring deep into extra time to secure Arsenal’s first piece of silverware in nine years.

Arsenal have already played Villa twice this season, beating them at Villa Park 3-0, and then beating the Midlands side 5-0 at the Emirates. However, as we have seen from many times in the past, Arsenal will not make this game easy for themselves.
