Arsenal are keeping tabs on Leicester City keeper Kasper Schmeichel as a secondary option if they fail to sign Chelsea keeper Petr Cech, according to reports.

Cech has lost his first-team place to Thibaut Courtois and is looking to gain first-team football but, despite Arsene Wenger’s interest, it is likely that 32-year-old will move abroad with PSG keen to sign him.

Schmeichel who has been at Leicester since 2011, after his move from Leeds United, and has caught the attention of other Premier League clubs such as Liverpool. The 28-year-old has stated he is happy at the King Power Stadium and, having just signed a new contract last summer taking him up to 2018, he would not come cheap.

Cech is not the only apparent transfer target Wenger could miss out on with highly rated Palermo ttriker Paulo Dybala, a long-time Gunners target, has agreed a move to Juventus. He will cost £21m with a further £8m in bonus payments.
