1. Arsenal still have no plan B:

Sunderland came to the Emirates with a defensive set-up and looked to hit Arsenal on the counter which they did well, however it just highlighted Arsenal's inability to break down stubborn defences. The Gunners happily passed the ball around the edge of the box but to no avail. They rarely shifted the ball wide and there build up play was too slow.

2. Coates can defend:

This may see quite harsh, but Coates has failed to justify himself as a capable Premier League footballer bar an exceptional scissor kick against QPR. However the Uruguayan showed what made Liverpool sign him back in 2012. Blocking and clearing anything that entered his six-yard box, clearing off the line from Walcott as well.

3. Arsenal are struggling for goals:

Arsenal have failed to score in three consecutive home games for the first time since February 2009. Arsenal had 28 shots on goal yet failed to convert a single one. Giroud is lacking in confidence, having now not netted for seven games. Fatigue could be playing a part with the same starting eleven being consecutively used, coupled with complacency as a top-four finish was already secured.

4. Steven Fletcher is the main culprit:

If Giroud is low on confidence imagine how Fletcher is feeling. The Scot missed two glaring chances deciding an attempted dink over Ospina, which bounced wide was the wiser option and sliding in and putting over a mere five-yards out.

5. Sunderland are safe:

The Black Cats are safe and will enjoy another season of Premier League football. Mystery still surrounds Dick Advocaat's future with no clues as to where he will be next season. Hull and Newcastle are the two teams which live in fear of a final day relegation, with Hull needing a win over Manchester United at the KC.
