''Arsenal are three players away from winning the league''. That’s a popular statement that seems to be a common quote coming from journalists, pundits and fans.

And the statement is more than true. Arsenal are in desperate need of a world-class goalkeeper, defensive midfielder and striker for next season if they want to be considered title contenders along with Chelsea and Manchester City. One name that is being thrown around is Alexandre Lacazette.

The 23-year-old striker has been a revelation for Lyon this season with the French striker raking up 27 goals in Ligue 1, that’s impressive when you consider that only Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are the only players in Europe's top five leagues to have scored more goals than Lacazette.

Lacazette is one of the most perfect examples of a striker in Europe at this moment in time. Lacazette is fast, strong, can read the game well, finish from anywhere inside the 18-yard box and his link up play is second to none, and at only 23-years-old, it’s not a major surprise that a large number of clubs are interested in the Lyon number 10. Another interesting statistic from this season is that Lacazette is the first Lyon player ever to score more than 25 goals in a Ligue 1 season, and when you consider Karim Benzema, Lisandro Lopez and Sonny Anderson never managed this feat, it tells you how talented this young striker is.

Arsenal are one of the teams interested in Lacazette, and if the striker was to make the move to North London he would have no worries in fitting into the Arsenal system. Arsenal and Lyon are extremely similar teams. Both teams like to play an enjoyable, fast, creative and free flowing attacking style of football, and with the possibility of players such as Mesut Özil, Jack Wilshere and Santi Cazorla providing service to Lacazette, it makes for an extremely efficient attacking force that is sure to have Arsenal fans fanaticising over.

Arséne Wenger also plays a huge reason why Lacazette would flourish at Arsenal. Wenger as many people know, is one of the best managers and coaches for improving on young talent, and Lacazette is no exception. Thierry Henry, Robin van Persie and Emmanuel Adebayor are all strikers Wenger guided and over time turned them into prolific goal-scorers for the Gunners.

Although Lacazette could remain at Lyon for another season, if this talented striker was to leave the French side, it’s hard to argue that Arsenal would not be the perfect destination for him.
